hey Fast Car is a terribly crafted lyric.
Makes no sense whatsoever.
But I LOVE the song. I am not sure how you can say that it makes no sense. I haven't studied the lyric at all -- but my musical sense tells me it is a very well written story song. The message/story was perfectly understandable to me the first time I heard it.
