Try to relax John,

I dont know how this plays out, but in 1929 the markets were leveraged up to 90%, It is not now. And a lot of major wealth is in cash.
There is too much disunity in the European Union for them to mount a consolidated attack. China, however is a problem. They make all of our sh+t. Every light fixture that I ever bought was made in China.

My prediction:
Your new leader is a corporate style politician. Build consensus. Blame others for failures.
Trump is an Andrew Jackson sort of populist. "F 'em."

Canada's GDP is the size of Texas GDP. Canada cannot stare down the US in a trade war.
The other day on NewsNation they interviewed the Canadian ambassador. She stated that there were no tariffs on some farm products. She stated that Trump had lied about that. The interviewer, pressed her and asked if there were tariff thresholds that kicked in after a certain dollar amount was hit. She admitted that there was but did not want to elaborate on the actual mechanics. Leaving that out of her assertion was a distortion of the actual trade situation.

Many of us Americans want those types of things sorted through and we want confirmation that tariffs are non-existent, equal or reciprocal.

This morning Donny said that all this could be resolved if Canada would simply become our cherished 51st state.
That isnt going to happen. But the acidity of the statement indicates where Trump stands.

I suspect that negotiations have already started.

Try to relax. It will be fine. Americans like Canada.
