It looks like a strike carried out by US forces on a boat in the Caribbean Sea - which the White House says killed 11 drug traffickers - violated international law. US forces destroyed a vessel which, according to Trump, had departed from Venezuela. He said the boat was operated by the Tren de Aragua cartel and was carrying drugs bound for the US. They could have easily stopped the boat and arrested the 11 crew members and investigated to find out more about the channels they use to distribute the drugs. Instead, the US military just blew them out of the water. On a full tank that boat could have travelled some 100-300 miles. Venezuela is 1,300 miles away from the US. What if they made a mistake and tourists were on board? Labelling people a terrorist does not make them a lawful target. You can’t just blow up ships in international waters. What if China would do that? Trump is the President of the United States, not the world. He can use the military on Americans and countries we are at war with, not ships in international waters. I think he crossed a line here. What are the chances that the govt blew up a boat load of tourists or fisherman out in open water? Answer: Low Practical consideration: Who do you want dead? 11 drug traffickers? Or eleven (and many more) inexperienced American teenagers? These are organizations that torture, decapitate heads, hang bodies from bridges, murder journalists, murder politicians. Pick your preferred outcome and who you align with. Added considerations: Obama and 500+drone strikes carried out on foreign soil. Per Gemini In his final year in office, 2016, the United States dropped an estimated 26,171 bombs across seven countries: Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, and Pakistan
Regarding President "Obomber"...Were you complaining about international laws and crossing lines when he set those presidential records? (rhetorical question) Was assassinating Bin Laden in Pakistan a violation of "international law?"
