Here's a fun fact for ya'... The guy that wrote "Dead Puppies" (at least the guy claimed he did) used to teach guitar at Rancho Elementary School near Camp Pendleton... I was in the 6th grade. Within the first week, he told my Mom that I just didn't have the "knack" and there was no sense in me wasting time in his class... My parents, of course, had already been teaching me for several years at that point... and were frustrated with me as well. So, they offered him no argument. I just wanted to learn "Slow Ride" and "War Pigs", not fricken "dead puppies" and "thank God I'm a country boy"! Anyway, they transferred me to home ec where I learned to bake cookies and kiss girls
