Interesting statement that if they had hope, they would not be in it.
My take is it is greed and desire for money the "easy way".
Not every kid "from the ghetto" goes bad to the extent these gang members have.
And thanks for my "head shake" ...deportation was\wouls be insuffient....taking them to trial and US prison was likely deemed ineffective....and San Salvador built a prison for terrorists that had capacity and security. But you don't get greedy until in. The decision to go in is based on lack of family support, lack of education, lack of opportunities.
