Problem is Brian, that it's not just 'you Yanks' as you put it. Thanks to the global banking community lending out more money than someone was able to pay back, and the average consumer spending more than he earns, I now have to pay a couple of hundred dollars extra per month on my home loan because of the defaults in the US, to which our domestic banks are exposed.

Governments have always been controlled by big busines, and always will be. But, as you say, now that the genie is out of the bottle, and information is freely available, unrestricted and uncontrolled, it will be an interesting few decades to come.

Over-consumerism is just killing the global economy, and as soon as the populace learns to live within their means, the better.

I don't know who is going to win your election, but they better put together a tight budget for the sake of eveyone.
