Ray, you have proved my point precisely. All the way back to JFK's Daddy, who, as an industrialist, beat the stockmarket crash, survived the depression, and put his son in the White House. Governments are controlled, or at least influenced by the wealthy.

On socialism, any government which does not provide for the weakest in it's society is dommed to failure. Australia has universal health care, and universal education, a small payment for those who are disenfranchised and marginilised, as do most civilised European nations. This happens with a balanced budget, and over the last 8 yrs, one which is in surplus.

Oh, what a pinkie I am to stand for socially just policies.

I hope someone there will actually stand up and be counted, and actually try to get it right, not just for the sake of the US, but also for the global partners in which it is entwined.
