LOL, Methinks you doth protest too much, sometimes. I think I said I thought it was clear, focused and easy to understand. You said it wasn't. Really not much common ground to work on there. I read over your points -- I just didn't think you were being serious. I just thought you were arguing for the sake of arguing. Did they move to the city and she took a different job (a lot like the first job)? I think so, but if they didn't it wouldn't make much of a difference to me.

That's the significance of the "Fast Car". If you can't understand that stanza, then just keep writing and stop analyzing, the analysis is not that important.
