No, Everett, God is still quite prevalent in schools here. Americans can pray any time they want, anywhere they want. What they DID do, some time ago was to stop school administrators and teacher from leading students in prayer. The Supreme Court rightly concluded that religion is a private matter between a person and his god, and that it would be best for everyone if the schools kept out of it. It was a good decision and perfectly in keeping with America's devotion to religious freedom.
You, being from Canada can be excused for not knowing this. Sadly, there are many Americans who are similarly misinformed about this.
