Folks, calling others' beliefs "stupid" or "silly" is always taken personally. Try arguing without modifiers. Here's an example:

"One should argue without modifiers."

compared with:

"One should argue without mean-spirited modifiers."

Also, here's a hint, people who don't believe do not like to be told they are going to burn in hell. In our modern culture, once people are adults, it usually does not help make them believe, and more often will cause them to harden their resolve to reject the message. Hell doesn't make folks believe, it makes believers careful. In the case of our group here at JPF, musicians are a very "peer driven" lot, we like to think of ourselves as individuals and "mavericks" but the truth is, most of us usually adopt the styles, politics, and even beliefs of our musical peers. As musicians, we tend reject authority, because many of those in power throughout our lives have tried to discourage and even prohibit us from our music, but we embrace the values of our peers. Want to influence musicians? Do it by example and friendly discourse, not by name-calling, fear tactics, or mockery of someone's beliefs.
