I've been continuously involved with young folks in the 18-22 age range for over 30 years now - since I was one myself, in fact
I have seen no real difference over the years in their morality, ethics, motivation or intelligence. Change their hairstyles and take their technology away and you could move them back in time 30 years and they would fit right in.
There are some differences - students today are, in general, much more tolerant of other races and religions than the average student of 30 years ago.
As for bullying in schools: When I was a kid, fistfights and bullying in school were common. Part of growing up was learning how deal with it. I don't see the situation as any worse today - it's just that we make a bigger deal of it.
On a planet of 6 billion people, you are still going to have 6000 one-in-a-million events every day. When the media focuses on those, it gives us a distorted view of others. Just my opinion of course....
