Mike, I understand what you're saying about the community, etc, but what has that got to do with the reason the man was excommunicated from the church? To me, if a church gets upset when you study and ask questions, it's not much of a church. My church encourages people to study and ask all the questions they want.
Bill, No MAN can cut off a person from God. If that person is living his life according to God's will, a church can't cut him off. That's why I think it's so crazy that a church like that can claim all power in everything. Look at all the children they have molested. What kind of leadership is that? If they would let their priests marry, I don't think they would have the problems they do.
