If the time ever comes when a well-regulated militia is necessary, guns will no doubt come in handy. But, practically-speaking, if conditions were so dire that an army made up of ordinary citizens was necessary to preserve freedom, I doubt whether anyone would be worrying too much about the legality of bearing arms. I am not debating the Second Amendment to the Constitution. I just think arguing about it is a ridiculous waste of time. Get real. If a militia were to form tomorrow, the police would shut it down in the interest of security.
