I think grading on the curve is a bad idea because no matter how excellent the class is, someone is going to get the lowest grade. I think we should measure achievement by "mastery" We set a high standard and when the students achieve it, they get an A. There is not B, C, D, E or F. When a British student "passes" his test, that means he has "mastered" the material. Wouldn't work here of course because this country is all about being better than someone else- I guess except at that push over high school. In Texas, the education system sucks so hard we have hurricanes!
