Before the Bible, there was relationship. Today, it's still relationship (friendship). The Bible was given as a teaching aid that could be easier to spread than a few teachers, and that didn't happen until the renaissance. Unfortunately, subjective interpretations have caused lots of problems. True, it's all about love, but not the warm fuzzy kind. We can't love everyone and that's not what it means. The love the Bible talks about is "unselfish concern for others". I don't have to like you, but I can reach out to you and help you when you are in need and that's all we are required to do. We don't have to feel guilty if we don't 'like' someone. You are free to if you want to though and it's not my business. Grace is about being 'guilt free', so we can have a true relationship even though sometimes we might be unworthy. Friends and family take you with all your warts and you take them too even though none of you are perfect.
To stay on the subject, when your spirit leaves the body, there are no brothers, sisters, mothers, dads and children. In the next existence, there are only spirits that relate to other spirits in new ways. The spirits still in bodies must make their own decisions and travel their own paths. You do what you can while in this life but let those concerns go in the new life just as you let the body go.

"The music industry is filled with risk takers, but not so filled with people who educate themselves before taking the leap." –Brian Austin Whitney
