Also, Herod was not a prophet, he had poor info. The savior was predicted many times in the old testament.

Mike, I agree with you. But for someone who thinks The Bible is merely a collection of myths and legends, when one gives The Bible as being authoritative it becomes a circular argument to them and they usually, as a matter of course, remain unconvinced. What I have done above is give just a few clues or evidence to the case for creative design for those like Big Jim who think science has proven that there is no need for a creator.

Scripture is chock full of prophesies fulfilled of the Coming, death and resurrection of the Messiah, which in and of itself was fulfilled in Jesus as the Messiah as well as many other matters. For one unique instance, the Eastern Gate of the temple was predicted to be walled up some 600 years before the birth of Jesus in Ezekiel 44. In Jewish tradition, this is the gate through which the Messiah will enter Jerusalem. Ottoman Sultan Suleiman I sealed off the Golden Gate in 1541 to prevent the Messiah's entrance. The Muslims also built a cemetery in front of the gate, in the belief that the precursor to the Messiah, Elijah, would not be able to pass through the Golden Gate and thus the Messiah would not come. This belief was based upon two premises. First, according to Islamic teaching Elijah is a descendant of Aaron making him a priest or kohen. Secondly, that Jewish priests are not permitted to enter a cemetery

The Eastern Gate (which is also the oldest gate of the old temple) remains closed to this day and anyone who wishes to visit Jerusalem or view pictures of it can clearly see it.

But...at this point in the discussion I was being more generic concerning the creator apart from any one religion or The Bible. Biblical prophesy can be delved into in much greater detail in another discussion. When Biblical prophesy is explored in light of well established history, it all becomes way too compelling to be mere coincidence.
