Sausage...... You miss the point entirely. I am an Atheist simply because there is no proof of the existence of God and I do not accept the premise that any God should be revered. In earlier posts I was quite clear about why I would not have anything to do with a God in the remote possibility of such a thing existing. There has been too much suffering in this world to ever consider that. In fact there is more to support the non existence of a creator and evidence to cast grave doubt on the validity of certain religious ways and beliefs. I cannot prove a negative it is impossible. For example the Loch Ness monster, Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, ghosts and the Yeti. Now I cannot prove they do not exist only that weighing up the evidence I doubt it very much that they do.....however without any evidence nobody can prove that these things actually do exist. If someone IS prepared to have blind faith well that is up to them.....I just do not have blind faith and never will. I should ask what proof YOU have of supporting the theory that God exists? I do not have to prove anything I am not the one claiming that there is a God. Nobody has proof only blind faith and that is a step too far for me. I bet that you would never have any belief if just left to your own imagination and you would probably have a completely different faith or viewpoint if you were born in a different place. I bet you were preached to and so followed the rest of the flock. If God exists why do we have to be taught about it by MAN? and why does every man have a different take on the subject?
