I've had a long journey through religion and faith, philosophy, and history, and have concluded that it is best to keep things simple.

I believe in the One God Of Abraham, who is the One God of Moses, Jesus and Mohammed, Peace Be Upon Them All.

I try to live as much as possible by Gods's commandments and Aristotle's Golden Mean.

The rest is too complicated for me and, as many have pointed out, the product of a fallible humanity.

That allows me to see us all, including atheists, as being on a personal journey to God.

Atheists must have some idea of what it is they deny, (because they are dishonest if they simply dismiss God out of hand) and those who rely entirely on faith in a complicated story study the Torah, Bible (Old and New Testaments)and the Holy Koran for lessons to apply to their lives. Every one is thinking about God.

Now what would be really nice is if we could focus not on how we differ, and try to convert others to believe in those differences because 'we" do, but focus on how much we are the same. That, to me, is far more productive than quarreling over "proof" of why "our version" is the right one.
