My analogy was poor. I'm not threatening someone with starvation, just offering dinner. If they don't believe they are going to starve, they don't have to accept my invitation. But here's the rub, they don't believe they will starve, but are mad that I am offering them food anyway. Who's being disrespectful?
However, if I believe someone could be starving and DON'T offer them dinner. That would really be disrespectful.
