I had no thoughts of using your tracks without permission. I'm sensitive to these type of issues as probably most of us are. What I was trying to say and this probably is open to interpretation is that even if you choose to use nothing of mine in your end project (which I hope is not the case), I feel I have created a pitchable song,(sans your tracks) but I am still a little confused on how you interpret that. If you don't believe in yourself and value your own work then no one else will. And I'm not trying to be a dick and I want to be in the contest and would love to work on the final project.

I suppose I'm no different from you in that I want to respect others work, but I also want to have mine respected. Gonna leave it there.

No problem I understand how you are thinking, but all anyone has to do now is read all the posts I have been putting up today to see how clear & simple it can be.

Yes the soundclick was funny, I only suggest not to let it cloud our judgment
Nothing about anything we have so far makes this a country song at all...

And with the levels of the mix, problems with pitch in vocals and the timing issues all over it... Yet Some how it gets voted to near the top fo the charts just more & more proof of what little meaning Soundclicks chart has to offer any of us. Soundclick is GREAT for hosting our files and giving us an easy nice page to work with as home base source, much like a website but more people visit it... That's it really. And FREE hosting!

What I'm saying here overall and this is why I ONLY put up a chorus at first is:
I wanted to see who could come up with the best melody & pharses for a chorus.
Over all the time I have been here that has been one of the biggest problems I have seen and heard, people having the most trouble with... Hooks!!

You can pile all the lyrics and rules one on top of the other and toss them out the window, No Hooks No Hits and songs mean music, so your music better have some hooks.

The Collaboration part of this contest really comes after we decide if there is anyone or anything here that I'm gonna try to incorporate into a final product.

Right now it's like a workshop as well as a fun contest.

If you have any fear of the others taking your lyrical ideas or melodies pull out of the contest. That is why there are probably so few of us in it to begin with.
Yet hundreds of lyrics go on the borads everday unfinished and primed to be taken.
Go figure!

Pete - All those "Gigantic" lyrics are your 100% all your melodies are yours as well.

If this song is finished sometime and some things are slightly similar to you melody wise that would be normal because of the progressions and the UNDERLYING melody and phrases I have in the music already.

I can hear slight similarites in your submsission as that of Marks and he was the first one in...

As I said several people have crossed into somethings I had in my head and here on a cassette tape from 3 years ago.

So you will have all your own words and probably a chorus melody or some other section that might have a slight similarity melody to some of us or whatever this song is like when it's finished.

I would expect that, I would not expect it to have my tracks or a replica of my musical hooks, arrangements, grooves & chops.... being used.

I think we are on the same page. Only I would suggest new lyrics for your Country song smile
