Very kind of you, Paul. Thanks!

However...Mike nailed the truth on this one: it sounds A LOT like The Eagles...more specifically, it sounds A WHOLE LOT like "Victim of Love". I hate it when that happens. It even has the same notes and feel..."what kind of love have you got?" It borders on copyright infringement, it's so close. I didn't mean to do that, but now that I hear it, it's hilarious...and of course, then I choose to whip into a three-part lead solo in a very Eaglesy way. Yikes.

So, in a tribute-band sort of way, it's fun. But Mike is looking for a modern sound. I'm going to post one more shot at a chorus tomorrow, just to see if I can.

Like you I was sad to see where this thread went...the important thing is that we all got a chance to write to order. So much better than "write a song about leprechauns"...this was a great opportunity to write to a particular musical style. Unfortunately, the element of competition tends to sour the apple. I sort of wish there was no potential "prize" at all. I think it's better to view this as a one-of-a-kind chance to try your hand at writing to an existing piece, period. That is a cool thing.
